Sequence/OS vs Mindbody

We make Sequence/OS. This is our honest comparison of which tools may suit your own teaching style the best, including where other tools beat us.

Mindbody is the industry standard for studio booking and business management, and it has the scale to prove it: a consumer app with millions of monthly shoppers, ClassPass ownership and a mature marketing suite. Sequence/OS is a teaching companion with bookings built in. Mindbody is the better pick if new-client discovery and full studio operations are the priority. Sequence/OS is the better pick if you teach your own classes and want planning, teaching and bookings without an enterprise sales process.

Where Mindbody wins

Reach and operations. Listing on the Mindbody app puts you in front of millions of people actively looking for classes, which no standalone booking page can replicate. Its marketing automation, analytics, retail, payroll and multi-location tooling are the deepest in the industry. If you run a studio whose growth depends on being found, that network effect is real.

Where Sequence/OS wins

Mindbody is business software for running a studio. It will not help you build a class, remember how the last one went, or teach hands-free: there is no sequencing and no equivalent of Play Mode. For a solo teacher, its entry price is nearly triple Sequence/OS's before the sales-led upsells begin, and the features yoga teachers actually want often sit behind upgrade calls.

Sequence/OS keeps the whole teaching cycle in one flat-priced tool: build the sequence, plan the week, take bookings with waitlists, rolling passes, reminders and attendance, invoice private work, then teach with the written cue on the pose. No tiers to negotiate, no marketplace commission, and the booking fee is 1% rather than a business relationship.

Bottom line

A studio that needs discovery, marketing and multi-location operations: Mindbody, with budget for it. A teacher who wants the class itself planned, taught and booked in one honest monthly price: Sequence/OS.

Competitor pricing changes often. Where we could not confirm a figure on the company's own site, we say so rather than print a number. Sequence/OS pricing checked August 2026.
